HANSVILLE GREENWAY UPDATE

When we review our volunteer efforts for 2017, there were several improvement projects made to the Greenway trail system and a lot of maintenance to keep the trails open for easy hiking.  Installing new stairs on steep slopes, adding gravel on wet trail spots, cleaning culverts, cutting and removing downed and dangerous leaning trees and branches, and mowing brush next to trails and in the meadows.  Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped us during the past year.  Howie O’brien already has a list of volunteer projects for 2018.

At the December Hansville Greenway Ass’n. Meeting, the current officers were unanimously reelected for the coming year.  They are: Mike Szerlog, president; Jim DeRoy, vice president; Art Ellison, treasurer; Marilyn DeRoy, secretary.  Denny Johnson agreed to continue as stewardship coordinator,  and Howie O’Brien as maintenance projects boss.

You can help the Greenway with a donation through the Greater Hansville Community Center when you renew your GHHC membership.  Every little bit helps to purchase needed supplies to keep improving the trails,  To all of you who enjoy a pleasant walk through our woods, Happy New Year from the Hansville Greenway Ass’n.  The next Greenway meeting will be March 1st , 6:00 pm at GHCC.
