HANSVILLE GREENWAY UPDATE
Now that February is here, the days are getting longer and hopefully a little warmer. However as you know, we can still have frosty mornings and maybe even a fresh snowfall. Last month we had some early morning frost that kept getting bigger each day since it didn’t melt in the shade of the trees in the Greenway. It was a beautiful sight along the trails with everything close by coated in white crystals of frost. Thanks to Howie O’brien and his camera we can share and enjoy these wonderful white icy shapes that soon disappeared.
Please join us for our first meeting of the year on Thurday evening February 4th , 7:00 pm at the Greater Hansville Community Center. The public is always welcome . If you would just like to know more about the Hansville Greenway or learn how you can become involved in some of the projects as a volunteer. We are always interested in hearing about people’s experiences while hiking in the Greenway. You can volunteer as much or as little time as you want or need.
Whenever you go into the Greenway and see any conditions that may need cleaning up or fixing you can report it to the Greenway stewards at info@hansvillegreenway.org. This can include any vandalism, fallen trees or limbs, washouts or big muddy areas. Wild animal sightings are also appreciated. You can also like us on Facebook.
Remember while taking your dogs along in the Greenway they must be kept on a leash, and also take along a mutt-mitt. Dispensers are available at the major trail entrances.
You can also support the Greenway by making a tax deductible contribution to the Greenway through the Greater Hansville Community Center when you pay your 2016 dues.
