HANSVILLE GREENWAY UPDATE

Winter is here with short, cloudy days and cooler temperatures.  The change of seasons is a beautiful time to walk the Greenway.  The maple and alder trees have shed their leaves and most of the trails are not muddy thanks to the voluteers who worked on fixing drainage problems this past Summer.  If you enjoy nature, now is a great time to experience the seasonal changes within the trail system.  There are several short walks on the 6 plus miles of trails that are easy to trek without spending a lot of time.

During your walk keep an eye out for any downed trees or exposed roots or any other problems on the trail that may need attention and let us know by sending a message to our Facebook page.  A link is provided on our website: hansvillegreenway.org.  On the website you can check out the  trail map, photos of special places and information on how to become a volunteer.

The next Hansville Greenway Association meeting will be held Thursday, December 1rd.  6:00 p.m. at the Greater Hansville Community Center and will include a holiday “THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS PARTY”.  There will be holiday themed snacks and refreshments and a video about the Greenway will be shown.  Even if you haven’t volunteered and would like to thank those that have, please come and join us.

This is also our annual meeting  with the election of officers for the coming year.  The meeting is open to everyone interested in the Hansville Greenway and there are no dues to pay to become a member and be involved.  We are always looking for more friends to join us as volunteers to keep the Greenway enjoyable for everyone who likes a pleasant walk through a beautiful nature and wild life preserve .  Come and join us!
