As of October 16th
Our trails are mostly clear, but the fall rains appear to have started. No telling how much good weather we’ll be having now. We hope to get some clear days so we can get the trails ready for winter. Since it’s been rather dry, I wouldn’t expect to see too much muddy conditions yet.
Can’t remember where the trail number posts are located? Check out our map in the General Information menu item. Remember, you can always load the Maprika app on your smart phone and import the Hansville Greenway map. The app works with Android or iOS. With GPS enabled, you should be able to find your way with no problem.
Want to report stuff? Want to volunteer to help? Just e-mail us at email@example.com or you can contact Art at 360-638-0738 to make your report. You can also comment on our Facebook page.
We are short of able-bodied people to help with maintenance, so if you’ve ever wanted to volunteer your time for a really good cause, we’d love to have you. Any time you can contribute is really appreciated! And you’ll get bragging rights for working with us! There is no “required” amount of time for volunteers to work. We are just happy to get any help we can get.
Our organized hikes went well. While we didn’t have a lot of people, those that went on the hikes appreciated the opportunity to get to know the Greenway a bit better. We’ll probably offer this opportunity again next hiking season.
If anyone wants a “guide” on a hike (even in the winter), let us know. We can probably have one of our volunteers help you discover that hiking is enjoyable even in the winter.
You’ve probably noticed that we still have a little work to do on the Alder Wetlands trail where it leaves Twin Spits Rd. We are working on it. Want to help? Give us a call.
We expect to have Dennis Kommer volunteer a day toward the end of the month to do some mowing as he does every year. We are extremely grateful that he wants to donate time to help with the Greenway maintenance.
