Well, got most of the blowdown taken care of and now we have ice and snow! Be careful out there as there are slick parts of the trail where the ground is frozen and standing water has become little ice skating rinks.
Be sure to dress warmly. Don’t want to find anyone frozen up there.
Can’t remember where the trail number posts are located? Check out our map in the General Information menu item. Remember, you can always load the Maprika app on your smart phone and import the Hansville Greenway map. With GPS enabled, you should be able to find your way with no problem.
Want to report stuff? Want to volunteer to help? Just e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can contact Art at 360-638-0738 to make your report. You can also comment on our Facebook page.
We are short of able-bodied people to help with maintenance, so if you’ve ever wanted to volunteer your time for a really good cause, we’d love to have you. Any time you can contribute is really appreciated! And you’ll get bragging rights for working with us! There is no “required” amount of time for volunteers to work. We are just happy to get any help we can get.
Our work party was successful in clearing the blowdown from the Outback trail. But–there is always work to do. Right now we’re tackling “must do” projects, as it’s rather uncomfortable to be working out in the woods when it’s below freezing.
If you are not willing or able to help with physical work, consider signing up as a trail steward. These people play an important part in the management of the trail system. They serve as our eyes and ears.
