As of July 20th
The logging that was being done up on Hansville Road is finished. Our job now is to re-establish the trail on the west side of Hansville Rd. The east-west part is still OK. We just need to cut a new trail from the access point off of the road going north to the wooded area. We'll be doing that soon.
Most of our trails have been brushed. Unfortunately, in this climate, we'll soon have to hit them again. If you notice any trails that are really getting narrow due to the encroaching vegetation, let us know. Better yet, contact us to let us know you'd like to help us clear them!
Can't remember where the sign posts are located? Check out our map in the General Information menu item.
Want to report stuff? Want to volunteer to help? Just e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can contact Art at 638-0738 or Van at 638-2858 to make your report. You can also comment on our Facebook page.
We need all the help we can get, so if you've ever wanted to volunteer your time for a really good cause, we'd love to have you. Any time you can contribute is really appreciated! And you'll get bragging rights for working with us!
As reported in the trail conditions, the logging is now finished. What remains is the job of reconstructing the trail through the mess to access the rest of the "outback" trail. To that end, we have established a detour along the logging road until we can get the trail in shape. It runs from post #18 to the Hansville Road.
Note that the fire danger signs are up--it's been dry so you need to be extra careful up in the woods.
Some of you have heard that there is a book written by Sid Knutson and his son Craig detailing the history of the Greenway. Well, it's true. It will soon be available for sale at the Hansville Grocery. You'll see it there!
